An arraignment hearing was held Tuesday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for 46-year-old Aaron Way of Sheridan. At the hearing, Way pleaded “not guilty” to the charge of Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance- Marijuana. The possession charge is a felony because Way has previously been convicted three times for similar charges.

District Court Judge John Fenn set the date for the three day jury trial to begin on Monday, May 24. A pretrial conference was scheduled for April 15 at 9 am. Judge Fenn said that despite the Wyoming Supreme Court’s order suspending jury trials in Wyoming, he remains optimistic that they will be able to conduct a jury trial in May. The felony drug possession charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and fines of up to $5,000.
