Plan One: Hospital COVID Projects to Begin in November
Dan Odasz with Plan One Architects gave a preliminary timeline of the hospital’s COVID-19 projects to the board at their last meeting.
Odasz said the equipment has been ordered and will begin showing up to be staged at the facility for a mid-November start time for construction, with a scheduled end date of December 31st.
The larger of the projects is installing five air-handling units to replace the existing ventilation system.
Odasz explained the process for replacing the units.
The air handlers will be done in phases so as to not completely interrupt the facility all at once.
Odasz and Plan One have also begun planning for the other projects which are renovations of the family waiting room in the acute care area; the surgery patient recovery area; and the sterilization area.
The projects have been funded through the State Loan and Investments Board, or SLIB, with money from the Federal CARES Act for COVID-19 capital improvements projects.
The JCHC was approved for a $3.8 million grant which must be spent by the end of 2020.
A specific construction schedule is expected to be available at the board’s next meeting October 28th.
