Pat BlairBids for boiler replacements at the Early Building are due on Oct. 27, and the John C. Schiffer Collaborative School building will be enclosed before winter arrives.
That’s according to Mathers Heuck, Sheridan County School District 2 facilities director, in a report to the district’s trustees this week.
Heuck said the Early Building project is to replace two boilers and a domestic hot water heater.
He said trustees will be asked to award the building contract in November if pricing is within budget, and the project should be finished before the end of school in May.
Heuck said the next milestone in construction of the Schiffer school should be met at the end of this month when the contractor has installed a weatherproof building envelope. He said after insulation is in place, the mason will start placing the building’s brick facade, and doors and windows will be installed.
Heuck said upcoming projects for the school district include work on the maintenance shop, ventilation at the Sheridan High School ag shop, HVAC improvements at Sheridan Junior High School and a wall and roof component project at Highland Park Elementary School.
