Blood drives to be next week

Two community blood drives are scheduled for next week at the Best Western Sheridan Center.

The drives will be from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Vitalant, fires and tropical storms/hurricanes have hit both sides of the country, forcing Vitalant to shut down some of their blood centers. Those regions are asking areas not hit to help by providing blood.

Healthy donors are urged to schedule an appointment, but walk-ins will also be welcome.

Donors will be screened upon arrival at the Best Western, and must wear a mask or other face covering.
