Sheridan County Supporting Visionary Funding Application

Visionary Broadband is applying to the Wyoming Business Council for funding to expand services in the Sheridan area, and the Sheridan County Commission has lent their support for the application.

The grant funding is through the State of Wyoming’s Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES, Act funding allotment.

The county commission will send a letter of support, saying they welcome the efforts of Visionary to improve and expand services, and that many area households and businesses have far less than minimum broadband services and some have no access to service at all.

The letter continues by saying the availability of fixed wireless or fiber, at affordable rates, will have an enormous impact in terms of safety and economic benefit, as we prepare for a post-COVID environment, adequate broadband has become more important than ever.

The commission is in full support of Visionary’s application for grant funding, and hope the committee looks favorably upon the request.
