Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Marketing and Communications Director Jodi Hartley has announced the winning design for the 31st Annual Sheridan Christmas Stroll Button Design Contest will be unveiled at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20 during a special presentation by Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger, Sheridan Christmas Stroll Committee Chair Robby Smith and Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce CEO Teresa Detimore at Sheridan’s City Hall.

The student designer will also be recognized and will receive a framed copy of his or her design, the first button and $100 in Chamber Bucks.

Annually, Sheridan County students in Grades 1 through 6 are invited in the spring to submit designs to the Sheridan County Chamber’s Christmas Stroll Committee for the Stroll Button Design Contest. This year, the committee selected the winning design based upon how well it reflects the 2026 theme, “America’s 250th Christmas.”

Hartley reports Stroll buttons will be delivered to participating businesses Thursday and Friday, Oct. 29 and 30, and will be available for purchase by the public. Buttons will also be available for purchase at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, 54 S. Main St. starting Nov. 2. The cost remains $5 each. Stroll buttons have sold out in past years so it is recommended to purchase them prior to Stroll day.

This year’s Christmas Stroll will be held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27. Stroll button holders can begin checking for matching button numbers that morning. Main Street and Grinnell Plaza will be closed from 4 to 8 p.m. for hay wagon rides, marshmallow roasting, free food and beverages and more. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting with children and available for photos at the WYO Theater from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Registrations for businesses to participate in this year’s Christmas Stroll are due by Tuesday, Oct. 20. Registration can be completed online by clicking here.
