Dumpsters Available in Sheridan and Johnson Counties for Carcass Disposal

Published

Wyoming Game and Fish Department Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt appeared on Sheridan Media’s Pulse informing hunters in the area of the locations of dumpsters to dispose of their harvest carcasses.

Schmidt said if hunters harvest edible portions of their animal at the location of the kill, they may leave remains at the harvest site.

Carcasses taken elsewhere for processing must go to an approved landfill or disposed of in one of the carcass dumpsters located throughout Sheridan and Johnson counties.

These four carcass dumpsters are located west of Buffalo off Highway 16, at the Petrified Tree Education Area east of Buffalo, between Dayton and Ranchester on Highway 14 and west of Kaycee on Highway 191.

Emptied weekly, Schmidt said Game Fish is asking that no household or other garbage be dropped into the dumpsters.
