The City of Sheridan is upgrading its Connect Sheridan citizen reporting app to a 311 customer service management system designed to simplify reporting concerns and improve follow-up.

Sheridan City Council Member Bev Leichtnam appeared on Sheridan Media’s Pulse and said development is expected to take six to eight weeks, with the system launching in late November or early December.

According to the City, this upgrade will route residents’ requests to appropriate city staff within departments, provide updates and track each concern through the process to the resolution. The goal is to reduce the need for residents to contact multiple departments or repeatedly ask about a request.

Department managers will also be able to track request volume, issue types, locations and response times. Leichtnam said that information will help identify recurring problems and measure whether concerns are being resolved as well as identify patterns that may need to be brought to city council for further consideration.

The city aims to make communication more consistent, improve accountability and give residents a clearer understanding of what happens after they report an issue to the departments responsible for the specific issue.
