Safe Streets for All Open House: Aug. 19

The City of Sheridan Safe Streets for All Open House will be 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 19 at the Whitney Commons Pavilion in Sheridan. 

Through the use of a federal grant, the Sheridan Safe Streets for All project is a plan focused on one goal, safer streets for every resident and visitor. Whether driving, walking, biking, or rolling, the project aims to identify problem areas within the city street and sidewalk system.  

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan City Planner Kelly Schroeder said the project’s goal is to listen to the community and improve transportation safety for everyone.

The open house is one such opportunity for community members to learn about the project, share their experiences, and help identify priorities for making Sheridan’s streets and sidewalks safer.

For residents who would like to contribute, but can’t make it to the open house, the City has a webpage where residents can respond to the survey, learn more about the project and visit the map, where they can mark locations around town where they see an opportunity for improvement or have noticed an area of concern in the places they love to walk, roll, or bike.
