Change of Plea Hearing Held in District Court for Sheridan Woman Charged with Multiple Felonies

A change of plea hearing was held Monday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan for a woman charged with 14 felonies. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Between 2015 and 2025, Alisha Buszkiewic, while she was Secretary for Western Transport in Sheridan, made unauthorized transfers of money belonging to Western Transport with the intent to deprive the owners of that money.  In total, Buszkiewic made 281 unauthorized transfers, totalling $474,853. She was charged with 11 counts of felony theft and three counts of felony forgery.

Buszkiewic, pursuant to the terms of a plea agreement with the State, pleaded guilty Monday to three counts of theft and two counts of forgery. The State is recommending a prison sentence of 6 to 10 years for one of the two forgery charges and 4 to 6 years in prison for each of the three theft charges and the other forgery charge. The 4 to 6 year prison sentences would be suspended in favor of four years of supervised probation that will run consecutively. Buszkiewic must pay $50,000 towards the full restitution amount of $474,853 on the date of or prior to sentencing.

A presentence investigation report will be completed by the Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled sentencing for November 10 at 9:45 am. Buszkiewic’s bond was revoked and she was remanded to the custody of the Sheridan County Detention Center pending sentencing.
