Sheridan County Passes $16 Million Budget for 2020-21
Sheridan County’s Commissioners passed their budget resolution for the 2020-21 fiscal year during their meeting Tuesday morning.
The $16 million budget had no changes from Monday night’s budget hearing.
County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller gave details on the budget to the commission.
Obermueller said the county was unable to give employees a raise this year, and tabled some capital improvements projects.
In the budget, revenue for the county was at $14.8 million with expenditures totaling just over $16 million.
Cash reserves of nearly $1.2 million were added to balance the budget.
Obermueller said Sheridan County is in what appears to be a better, healthier position than other counties that rely on mineral production for much of their revenue.
