Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair looks back in time, over 100 years ago, to the impact of Spanish influenza as reported in the pages of the Sheridan Enterprise in 1918.

No basis can be found as of today, Dec. 11, for a widely circulated rumor that influenza is again on the increase in Sheridan. County Health Officer Dr. Hurd had not received reports from physicians for today, but reports of Sunday and yesterday showed five new cases of influenza for each day. Street reports discuss a good many cases of influenza lingering in a good many homes, but reports of physicians are generally reassuring.

Owing to the illness of a number of members of the lodge, the Elks’ social dance, scheduled for tomorrow night, will be postponed until a later date.
