McCarter Gives Report on Operation Blue Santa 2025

The Buffalo Police Department’s annual charitable event, Operation Blue Santa, was again a success in 2025, according to co-organizer Erika McCarter, who gave a report to the Buffalo City Council.

She gave more details on what was accomplished this past Christmas season.

McCarter said the program was able to help with rent and mortgage; food and groceries; bill assistance; vehicle repairs, registration, and insurance; Christmas wish lists; and a financial education course.

She said the community steps up every year to help with donations for the program.

Council members thanked McCarter and the police department for their work with the program every year to make the holidays better for a number of families.
