Senator Crago Talks Upcoming Budget Session
The 68th Wyoming Legislature will convene for the 2026 Budget Session on Monday, February 9 at 10 am. During the recent Eggs and Issues event hosted by the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee, State Senator for District 22 Barry Crago addressed the upcoming budget session.
Crago said the school finance recalibration bill is expected to get a lot of attention during the session.
The recalibration bill proposes a $1.8 billion funding model that would increase class sizes while decreasing the number of teaching positions in the state. The Legislative Budget Session will begin on February 9 at 10 am in a Joint Session of the Legislature where Governor Mark Gordon will deliver his State of the State Address, followed by the State of the Judiciary presented by Wyoming Supreme Court Justice Lynne J. Boomgaarden.
