Published

on

The Wyoming Legislature, during the special session last month, authorized the Wyoming Community Development Authority to receive and administer funds provided to the State from the federal CARES Act funding. The WCDA created the Wyoming Emergency Housing Assistance program to offer financial assistance for renters and homeowners adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program launched earlier this month, but there is still funding available for those that would like to apply. Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon says that the first round of assistance payments will start going out soon.

According to the WCDA, eligible WEHAP recipients may receive one month of emergency rent or mortgage payment assistance up to $2,000, with subsequent month(s) of assistance contingent upon completion of a monthly Request for Continued Assistance form attesting to the need for on-going assistance.
