Time Change is a Good Time to Check Your Smoke Alarms

It’s that time of year again, time to spring forward one hour this weekend for Daylight Saving Time. This is also a good time to check your smoke alarms in your home. Sheridan Fire Chief Gary Harnish says that having a working smoke alarm in your home doubles your chances of surviving a fire.
For the best protection, Chief Harnish said to make sure there is a working smoke alarm on every level of your home, inside bathrooms, and near sleeping areas. Test smoke alarms every month and replace them at least every 10 years. If you need help changing your batteries or would like to request a free smoke alarm, you can contact Sheridan Fire Rescue at (307) 674-7244 to request assistance and/or a smoke alarm.
