Wyoming Downs Rezone

A business on Coffeen Avenue is requesting to rezone its property. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

An ordinance to rezone property owned by Wyoming Downs at 927 Coffeen Avenue was an item of discussion at this week’s Sheridan City Council Study session. City Planner Kelly Schroeder says the request is to rezone the property from B-1 to M-1 to allow for gambling on the premises.

Schroeder said at that time, the City reached out to Wyoming Downs to work with them on taking care of the zoning issue and the City’s concerns.

The City Planning Commission, at their meeting this week, recommended approval of the rezone by a vote of 3 to 2. The City Council will consider first reading of the ordinance to rezone the property at an upcoming business meeting.
