Aaron PalmerState Senator for District 22 Barry Crago (R-Buffalo) attended the Buffalo City Council meeting Tuesday evening and discussed the legislative session that begins January 14 in Cheyenne.
Crago said after the November elections that the legislature will look different once they convene next week.
He said some of the bills he has seen so far that concern him are ones that are attacking local control that deal with city and county government.
He asked the council and constituents to pay attention to legislation and reach out to him and other lawmakers to make their voices heard in these issues.
Crago will service on the Judiciary and Agriculture Committees during this session.
He highlighted some of the bills he is working on for the session, which include raising the small estate affidavit and probate amount from $200,000 to $500,000; and state lands fencing, which he further explained.
Two of his other bills are what he called “backup bills,” one concerning funding for the Veterans Home rebuild and the other for funding for fire relief efforts which are needed in both Sheridan and Johnson Counties.
This year’s legislative session begins next Tuesday in Cheyenne.
