Aaron PalmerAt their first meeting for 2025 Tuesday morning, the Johnson County Commission welcomed new commissioner Steve Kozisek and then proceeded to take care of needed business.
Re-appointed as Chairman was Bill Novotny and Jeff Shelley was voted in as vice-chairman.
The commission also accepted the pecuniary forms from each of the members.
Approved to make investments on behalf of the county was Treasurer Carla Bischoff.
Depositories approved were First Northern Bank, First Interstate Bank, Bank of Buffalo, and ANB Bank.
The commission accepted and approved the IRS 2025 mileage rate of 70 cents per mile.
County positions approved were Tom Camino as County Fire Warden, Dr. Mark Schueler as County Health Officer, Clerk of District Court Paige Rhoads to the Criminal Justice Center Joint Powers Board, and Commissioner Shelley to the Tripartite Board.
The commission also approved themselves to serve on various boards and we will have that in an upcoming story.
