Sheridan County Assessor Paul Fall made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to speak on the assessment of property within the county.

Ahead of the 2025 General Session of the Wyoming Legislature, the Joint Revenue Committee met to discuss possible bills and property tax relief on Nov. 18 – 19. It remains to be seen what will come from the session regarding property taxes and providing long term relief but with voters passing Proposition A earlier this month, there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Here in Sheridan, many felt the pinch with the increase of property values a few years ago.

According to Fall, only a few short years ago a million dollar home in Sheridan County was a rare find. Now they have become much more commonplace.

Going into the new year, Fall said evaluations of the next tax period are based on the last year’s assessments.
