Pat BlairThe Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust is seeking nominations for the 2020 Kurt Bucholz Conservation Award.
The award was created in 2008 and awarded annually to an individual who shares the desire of the late Dr. Bucholz to support the landscapes and waterways of Wyoming.
Individuals eligible for nomination should meet one or more of the following criteria:
The person should be an advocate for conserving Wyoming’s farms and ranches; be a land steward or agricultural advocate who has been a participant in state, regional, or national natural resource discussions; be a defender of the importance of water conservation and the significance of protecting Wyoming’s traditional water rights; be a proponent of hunting and wildlife protection and have a personal commitment to habitat conservation; have implemented land or resource conservation practices on the individual’s own property with the stock growers land trust or a similar organization.
The award honors the memory of Dr. Bucholz, who was a veterinarian, rancher and legislator from Saratoga.
The recipient of the award receives a horse and rider bronze created by Wyoming artist Jerry Palen.
Award nominations must be submitted by May 15. They should be made online at wsgalt.org/bucholz-award.
