October is domestic violence month. October was first declared as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1989. Since then, October has been a time to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and be a voice for its victims.

Sheridan County Advocacy and Resource Center Executive Director Yvonne Swanson and Assistant Director Rhonda Weber made an appearance that a special event will be held this coming October in place of the traditional March Against Family Violence.
