Rooted in Wyoming formed in 2016 as a result of the community’s desire to promote local foods, nutrition, and sustainability. Since that time the organization has developed gardens and education projects to continue the legacy of sustainability by growing and eating local.
Rooted in Wyoming (RiW) Executive Director David Johnson and board member Hanne Wellborn made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite the community to the RiW Grow Local, Eat Local Food Festival taking place at 3 – 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Bridges.
During the celebration, guests will have the opportunity to speak with RiW staff about the many projects the organization has been working on throughout Sheridan.

Johnson said the Farm Wall at Smith Alley is one of the most popular and well visited projects of RiW. Johnson over there have been 7 harvests from that particular wall so far, producing approximately 60 lbs of produce that is donated to the Grab and Go at the Hub on Smith.
