The Hub on Smith is working to build upon the services they provide to meet the growing senior population in the region.
AARP Wyoming published the 2023 Wyoming Healthy Aging Data Report. This is an easy-to-use resource created by researchers at the Gerontology Institute of the University of Massachusetts-Boston led by Dr. Elizabeth Dugan, in partnership with the Wyoming Healthy Aging Coalition and coordinated by Professor Emeritus Virginia B. Vincenti, at the University of Wyoming. The report states there are more than 95,000 people in Wyoming age 65 and over and that number is expected to grow.
Hub on Smith Tongue River Valley Program Manager Robin Ruff and Director of Development Ryan Koltiska made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to speak on the services provided by the Hub to the Tongue River Valley.
With the housing crisis in the City of Sheridan, many seniors coming into the area may seek homes in Sheridan County and the smaller communities as opposed to the city. Ruff works to coordinate deliveries of meals to various locations around Sheridan County. Many small towns around the county are peaceful locations that many seniors call home.

The Hub and the services the center provides are numerous. But Koltiska shared that staff at the Hub is looking to expand on those services to meet the growing numbers of seniors in the area.

According to Koltiska, the Hub offers many services that much of the population are unaware of but can be found by exploring their website, here.
