Aaron PalmerThe Buffalo City Council, at their regular meeting Tuesday evening, passed on first reading their Annual Appropriation Bill, or budget, for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
Mayor Shane Schrader read Ordinance No. 1417 before asking for a motion to accept the budget on its first reading.
The Ordinance approved an operating budget of roughly $17.6 million.
By comparison, the city passed a $12.7 million budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, a $13 million appropriations bill for the 2021-22 fiscal year, and a roughly $13 million budget in fiscal year 2020-21.
The Ordinance will need to pass two more readings before it is adopted.
