The Sheridan and Buffalo high school rodeo teams will be competing this coming weekend at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan High School Rodeo Team student director for pole bending, Abagail Olson, and Buffalo High School rodeo member, Jymie Adamson, stopped by to talk about the upcoming High School Rodeo that will be kicking off at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo.

Both Adamson and Olson come from rodeo families. The cowgirls – who are good friends – will be competing for their schools during the High School Rodeo at the Johnson County Fairgrounds this weekend.

Adamson competes in the fastest rodeo competition there is, break-away roping.

Olson has trained with her horse for many years. Her event, pole bending, requires agility and balance from both herself and her mount.

These athletes and many others will be taking to the arena beginning at 9 a.m. through the weekend. The event is free and open to the public. For a full schedule of the weekend’s upcoming high school rodeo, click here.
