Lynn Custis, a Wyoming native and 24-year resident of Sheridan County has announced that she is running for a seat on the Sheridan County Commission.

In a release issued Monday, she said she is “a conservative Republican who believes in preserving the way of life for Sheridan County residents, (who) will strive to protect public access rights, work hard to maintain fiscal responsibility in the county and advocate for the health & safety of Sheridan County’s residents.”

The release continued, saying Custis feels her roles as a mother and grandmother “heighten her commitment to Sheridan County as a place where hometown family values continue to ring strong.”

She said communication and teamwork will lead to success in any organization.

She values honesty and hard work in those that she works with, and feels that she can be an asset to the county through the role of County Commissioner.

She has been involved in community organizations and events for over 20 years and is passionate about the community, serving on county boards, including the Child Support Authority board and most recently the Sheridan County Parks & Recreation board, where she served as President for three years.

She helped to implement the Sheridan Hoop Jam and her role as Chair of the Sheridan Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Chapter for the past several years show her natural leadership qualities and ability to bring people together for a cause.

Custis is currently the Senior Director of Residential Services for Volunteers of America, Northern Rockies.

Two questions. Will she be running for the two or the four year term seat?
Does she prefer Higher of Lower Taxes?
