Ron RichterAn ordinance to rezone two properties on Dry Ranch Road was approved on third and final reading by the Sheridan City Council at their regular business meeting Monday night. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer said the ordinance approved by the Council rezones two acres at 2530 and 2580 Dry Ranch Road from B-1 Business District to B-2 Business District.
Mercer said as part of the request to rezone the property, City staff sent notices to the 17 property owners within 300 feet, placed a legal notice in the newspaper, and posted a sign on the property.
Mercer said the future land use map designates the area for commercial use, so the rezone is in accordance with the future land use map.
Other business from the Council meeting included approval of a contract in the amount of $114,519 for professional services with Burns and McDonnell for Title V permitting at the landfill and approval of a contract with Otis Elevator Company for major maintenance on the elevator at City Hall in the amount of $169,250.
