Beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, The Sheridan Advocacy and Resource Center will hold the annual March Against Family Violence.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, an observed month in the US to recognize the victims of domestic violence and unite advocates across the nation in their efforts to end domestic violence.
ARC Executive Director Yvonne Swanson and Assistant Director Rhonda Weber made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the march and bring awareness to this year’s Advocacy in Action Award recipient, Kayla Laramore.
Swanson told listeners it will be best to arrive a little early.
Weber said the Advocacy and Resource Center works closely with Laramore, providing the center’s advocates first hand experience of the hard work and dedication of Laramore.
The Advocacy in Action Award will be presented to Laramore at the arrival of the March Against Family Violence to Whitney Commons.
