Aaron PalmerDuring their regular meeting this week the Sheridan County Commission discussed and approved the purchase of a vehicle from a local dealer to replace an aging one.
According to County Administrative Director Cameron Duff, he had asked for bids from local dealerships to replace the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban that is currently used by the county commission and many other county departments.
Duff said after receiving the lone bid, he looked at options on the lots, but found the used vehicles were priced near the cost of the new Jeep and had significant miles on them.
His recommendation to the commission, although he felt the cost was high on the new Jeep, was to purchase the vehicle.
Commissioner Nick Siddle agreed with the recommendation.
The commission approved the purchase of the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L 4×4 from Sheridan Motors in the amount of $72,549.
