Retaining county employees a topic during budget discussions

Sheridan County Commissioners Tom Ringley and Lonnie Wright spoke on the budgeting process during an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse. 

According to the commissioners, the board has met with the department heads and reviewed line items. But some department heads returned, asking for the commission’s help in retaining quality employees. 

Although still in discussion, wage increases take the lion’s share of options to aid department’s in retention efforts. 

Wright told the public, the county is a service provider and requires quality employees to provide those services.
