Sheridan Commission Approves Forest Law Enforcement Plan

Sheridan County’s Commissioners have approved a Cooperative Law Enforcement Annual Operating and Financial Plan between the county and the US Department of Agriculture, US Forest Service, Bighorn National Forest.
In essence, the county will provide Sheridan County Sheriff’s Deputies to patrol roads, campgrounds, and other areas of the Bighorn National Forest, performing law enforcement duties for the forest service during the summer months.
According to the agreement, the US Forest Service, Bighorn National Forest will provide $10,200 to the county for the law enforcement services the sheriff’s department will provide.
The agreement is in place through December 31 of 2023.
