Healthcare District Accepts 2024 Buffalo EMS Budget

The Johnson County Rural Healthcare District Board has accepted and approved the budget with Buffalo EMS to provide ambulance services for Fiscal Year 2024.

The board reviewed the budget proposal from Buffalo EMS during their regular meeting this week.

The amount requested by Buffalo EMS was just over $839,000 for the year beginning July 1 and running through June 30, 2024.

During discussions on the proposed budget, some board members thought the amount requested was too high, while others did not share the same opinion.

Mark Shueler, treasurer for the board, said he thought the requested budget amount was a bargain.

After discussions, the board proposed a budget amount of just over $830,000.

The board voted to accept and approve the budget, with Marilyn Connelly voting against.
