Johnson County Commission OKs Lake DeSmet Board Member

Johnson County’s Commissioners made an appointment to the Lake DeSmet Advisory Board during their regular Tuesday meeting.

Two candidates, Erin Litton and Kevin Michelena, filed Letters of Interest for the one available seat that will represent Recreation interests on the advisory board.

According to discussions at the meeting, Litton has experience in multiple boards,has a business background, was an EMS, and active in Parent youth rodeo in Bridger, Montana before moving to Johnson County.

Commission Chairman Bill Novotny said Michelena has memberships in Trout Unlimited, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and Ducks Unlimited which should qualify him to serve on the open seat as the representative for environmental interests on the board.

The commission opted to appoint Litton to the position.
