A concurrence award through the Wyoming Department of Transportation for the Main Street Dow to Burkitt Project was an item of discussion at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Over the next two construction seasons, the Wyoming Department of Transportation is scheduled to resurface approximately eight City blocks, half-a-mile of Main Street from Dow Street to Burkitt Street in downtown Sheridan. As part of the project, the City of Sheridan has elected to partner with WYDOT and use the opportunity to upgrade the aging utility infrastructure. City Public Works Director Hanns Mercer, during a presentation to the City Council and Mayor Rich Bridger at Monday night’s study session, said staff is recommending the Council approve the concurrence award through WYDOT for the project.
Mercer said in total, the City’s responsibility of the $17.9 million would be $11.1 million. The concurrence award is expected to be considered for approval by the City Council at an upcoming business meeting.
