U.S. Senators Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) introduced the Innovative Agricultural Technology Act. This legislation would require the Secretary of Agriculture to establish an innovative agricultural technology pilot program which would aid Wyoming producers who are pioneering cutting-edge technology to improve how we ranch and farm across the Cowboy State. Senator Lummis said agriculture is woven into the fabric of Wyoming and is a critical component of our economy and producers from the Cowboy State are finding healthier, safer, and more efficient ways to feed America every day.

The pilot program will allow for more competition and innovation by authorizing more agricultural entrepreneurs to work directly with farmers and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to create emerging agriculture equipment and technologies. Wyoming ranchers have long been pioneering better ways to produce the food we put on our tables. Legislation like this helps remove barriers and promotes the development of innovative farming and ranching technologies in our ever-changing economy.
