Ron RichterApproval of a new public works director and termination of the contract with Rocky Mountain Ambulance were items addressed by the Sheridan City Council Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
In 2011, the City of Sheridan began contracting with Rocky Mountain Ambulance to provide emergency medical services for the city. The Council at their meeting Monday night approved a notice of termination of the contract with RMA. City Attorney Brendon Kerns.
RMA will continue to provide EMS services as the termination will take place six months from now on November 17. Kerns explains that the contract termination was necessary so that the city can move forward with a Request for Proposals for a new contract.
Following a brief executive session, the Council reconvened into regular session to approve Hanns Mercer as the City’s new public works director. Mercer, the City Engineer, had been filling the role as interim public works director since Lane Thompson announced his resignation from the position in March. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
