The Sheridan College Theatre and Dance will present their spring play with a performance of ‘The Hunting of the Snark,’  at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5, (free schools show) and at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at the WYO Theatre and Education Center on Sophie’s Stage.

According to Sheridan College Theatre Instructor Dr. Lauren Graffin Estrada, the play is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s poem, ‘The Hunting of the Snark.’ Playwright Annabel Wigoder adapted the poem into a family musical that follows a gang of adventurers who set off on a quest on ‘Snark Island’ and encounter mythical creatures along the way. On their journey they encounter the Jub Jub Bird, the sneaky Bandersnatch and the dastardly Boojum.

Estrada told listeners of Sheridan Meida’s Public Pulse program the play was chosen due to its lightheartedness.
