Ron RichterDuring a House Armed Services Committee hearing Wednesday on “Ending the U.S. Military Mission in Afghanistan,” Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney questioned Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley about the consequences of withdrawing forces from Afghanistan.
Cheney then questioned General Milley on the impact the withdrawal will have on the ability to defend ourselves.
Congresswoman Cheney also defended General Milley’s patriotism and service to our nation.
General Milley has been under scrutiny for remarks he made to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Chinese officials following the January 6 attack on the Capitol. A recently published book by Bob Woodward and Robert Costa outlines steps that Milley took during then-President Trump’s last month in office to prevent the former president from launching nuclear weapons or ordering a military strike against China.

like it or not liz cheney has more courage than most elected republican officials in DC…and more courage than some of the commentors on this sheridan media website that don’t have enough guts to attach their own true name to their postings…like mitch for example

Maybe she should question her father and ask him why we invaded in the first place.

Milley is a disgrace to the uniform, and should be court-martialed for the treason in Afghanistan, the deaths of 13 Marines and 7 innocent children. GTMO should be his last mailing address. For liz to defend this traitor speaks volumes of her sad character. Please resign, liz, youre an embarrassment to our state that you have never called home.

Well said. Milley tried to say it was the honorable thing to d0 by not resigning. Thats total BS. Had he resigned it would have brought quicker attention to Bidens incompetence and probably save 13 service members. Instead Milley chose to go with the flow…

Very well said! You are spot on with your comment. Liz Cheney is not and was never a true Wyomingite. The quicker she is gone the better.

While I disagree with most of Liz Cheney’s policy positions, I believe she is that rare bird– a Republican who is honest and has integrity. We need more Republicans like her.
