Youth Basketball at the Sheridan County YMCA

As the weather changes to Fall conditions, sports move indoors. Registration is open for 6th grade Girl’s Basketball at the Sheridan County YMCA. 

In partnership with the Sheridan Recreation District and Sheridan County School District #2, the Sheridan County YMCA is currently registering girls in the 6th grade for basketball. 

Registration closes Oct. 12, and there is no registration fee. Practices will run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Sheridan County YMCA. Games will be played on Tuesdays at various schools beginning Oct. 30. 

Registration is also open for Youth Basketball. This program offers children in the 2 through 5 grades comprehensive basketball fundamentals while learning teamwork and having fun. 

Registration is open and closes Oct. 16. Registration fees are $25 per participant, the fee includes a basketball jersey. Practice and game times can be found here. 

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, YMCA Arts and Bighorn Fun Fridays coordinator Tyler Rogers described what he has seen from the YMCA youth amid COVID-19.
