A Look Back in Time: Aug. 6, 1920

Now here’s Sheridan Media’s look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Aug. 6, 1920.

Dr. M. A. Newell of Sheridan was elected state commander of the American Legion this morning, during the closing hours of the state convention here.

A 10-mile marathon horse race from Sheridan to Clearmont has been scheduled early in September for Clearmont day. Plans for the event were officially announced today by a delegation of Clearmont leaders.

Miss Gretta Cooley of Sheridan became the bride of Mr. Victor W. Madsen of Lincoln, Nebraska, in a wedding at 10 o’clock yesterday morning at Sheridan’s Presbyterian church.

Dr. and Mrs. J. P. Hayes returned to Sheridan yesterday after spending a few delightful days at Story.
