Sheridan Media reporter Pat Blair looks back in time, over 100 years ago, to the impact of Spanish influenza as reported in the pages of the Sheridan Enterprise in 1918.

Mrs. Charles Harrington died at 11 o’clock this morning, Dec. 21, at 221 Wyoming avenue as a result of influenza complications, and her husband, who is a railroad man, is reported to be critically ill with the malady.

Six more cases of influenza have been reported to County Health Officer Hurd, three in the city and three in the surrounding country.

Mrs. Riley is confined to her home with a severe attack of Spanish influenza.

Judge and Mrs. Byrd have received a long letter from their son, Fred, whom they had not heard from since September. He has been ill for six weeks with influenza.
