Watching for school buses in the summer season

School bus safety is typically discussed in September or August as children prepare to return to school.
As buses continue to operate and transport children into the summer season this year, the Sheridan Police Department is asking residents to watch for children during their commutes and to remember school bus safety.
During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Lieutenant Travis Koltiska reminded residents to watch out for children as they enjoy the summer.
Passing a school bus while it is stopped and unloading children – known as a “stop-arm violation” – typically carries a $435 fine.
