Bruner to Give Presentation on New Book to Historical Society

Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum Director Sylvia Bruner will discuss her new book “The Wyoming Bomber Crash of 1943” Monday at the Carriage House at the museum during the Johnson County Historical Society’s program for April.
According to a release, 41 heavy bombers were lost in the Continental United States in June of 1943, including a B-17 that went missing over Wyoming the night of June 28 with 10 young men aboard.
Two years later the wreckage was found by two area cowboys.
Bruner will discuss the event and her new book during the Historical Society’s meeting Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Attendees will also have an opportunity to view the newly-updated Bomber Mountain exhibit, time permitting.
