SJHS to present Shakespeare’s Macbeth

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, WYO PLAY founder and head teacher Grace Cannon-Wallace talked about the work the students have put into creating a true Shaksperian experience for the audience.
Directed by Heather Bujans, Sheridan Junior High School students have been working on a production of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Cannon-Wallace said the productions are shortened by Bujans but the heart of each production remains the same.

Shakespeare wrote in Early-Modern English or Renaissance English. This style of English was used primarily from the 15th to 17th centuries. Cannon-Wallace said there are challenges to learning the context of the language, but the Ye Olde Bronc Players are eager to learn this classic style.

The performances are free and open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m. on April 17 and 18 at the Sheridan Jr. High School Early Building Auditorium.
Ye Olde Bronc Players is a theater education program at SJHS, formed through a collaboration between Sheridan County School District #2 and WYO PLAY, the education initiative of the WYO Performing Arts and Education Center.
