Be Mindful When Conducting Controlled Burns

Many Sheridan County residents conduct controlled burns on their property throughout the year, and many are done in a responsible manner. During a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan County Sheriff Levi Dominguez talked about how important it is to take several precautionary steps when planning and conducting a controlled burn.
Checking the weather forecast for when you plan to conduct your burn is another vital step in making sure everything remains under control.
Sheriff Dominguez added that people should have a water source on hand, equipment nearby and extra help in case a controlled burn does get out of control and that you should never hesitate to call 9-11 for help.
