The last day to apply for the Wyoming Low Income Energy Assistance Program is Monday, March 31. Applications will be accepted online until 11:59 pm Monday. LIEAP helps eligible seniors and families pay a portion of winter heating bills for natural gas, electricity, propane, coal, wood, and other fuel types. LIEAP also provides crisis assistance, covering heating emergencies like broken furnaces, empty fuel tanks, and utility issues.

To qualify for LIEAP, Wyoming residents may have an income of up to 60 percent of the state’s median income. A family of four should have a household income of $67,041 or less, while a couple would need $45,587 or less to be eligible. Priority is offered to households with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or children under five years of age. The program extends benefits to both homeowners and renters—even those living in permanently parked RVs or campers. LIEAP is funded through a federal block grant program by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and administered by the Wyoming Department of Family Services. Applications will be accepted online at lieapwyo.org until 11:59 p.m. on March 31. Or call the LIEAP center at (800) 246-4221 Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
