Biteman Proud of Senate’s Property Tax Bill

State Senate President Bo Biteman (SD-21) in his talk with Sheridan Media this week, discussed legislation he was pleased to see come out of the senate during this year’s session.
He talked about SF0069, the Homeowner Property Tax Exemption bill.
Senator Biteman was asked if SF0069 had built-in “back-fill” in it to help with lost revenue that would be caused by the tax reduction.
Biteman Further explained that if the 50% property tax deduction is passed, Sheridan County will still show a current revenue increase due to property tax increases since 2019 of 17%, while Johnson County would still show an increase in revenue since 2019 of 11%.
Biteman discussed other legislation he is pleased with, and we will have that in an upcoming story.
