Johnson County Commission Chair Bill Novotny made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse in part to announce the National Forest Ranger position for the Bighorn National Forest has been filled.

The Johnson County Commission Chair thanked Bighorn National Forest Supervisor Andrew Johnson who has worked with the stakeholders in the forest and supported the continued manning of the position of Powder River District Ranger, which has been on the chopping block of the National Forest in the past as a cost saving measure.

Novotny said there are a number of issues that face the Powder River District Ranger. And ensuring that position is filled is critical to not only the success of the district but the Bighorn National Forest as a whole. Meaning  the new Powder River Ranger, John Wallace, will hit the ground running.
