The Hub on Smith Invites Community to Day Break Open House

The Hub on Smith is inviting the community to an Open House for Day Break, its adult day care program. 

According to Hub on Smith Director of Development Ryan Koltiska, this event will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. The open house will provide families, caregivers, and community members with an opportunity to learn more about the essential services Day Break offers to support older adults and their loved ones.

Caring for an aging loved one comes with many challenges, and Day Break was developed by the Hub to help. The program provides a warm, welcoming environment where older adults can socialize, participate in enriching activities, and receive personalized care from expert staff—all while giving caregivers the peace of mind and respite they need.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Day Break Director Barb Blue said Day Break’s social component is a vital part of the program. Hub staff ensure the needs of clients are prioritized and met while the clients engage in activities and visit with friends.

Attendees of the Open House will have the opportunity to tour the Day Break facility and see the inviting space designed for comfort and engagement, meet the dedicated staff who provide compassionate, individualized care, and learn about daily activities that help seniors stay active, connected, and engaged.

Whether loved ones need assistance staying active, enjoy meeting new friends, or require extra care during the day, Koltiska said Day Break is here to help. Because caring for loved ones shouldn’t mean doing it alone. 

“We are excited to welcome the community to Day Break and share how this program enriches the lives of older adults while providing peace of mind for their families,” Blue said. “This Open House is a great opportunity for those who may be considering adult day services to see the space, meet our staff, and learn how we can support their loved ones.”
